As our business continues to grow throughout Western Australia and Canada, we are seeking an experienced and highly personable HR & Recruitment Officer to join our Perth team.

This role combines responsibility for recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement with broad HR support across the business. You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our employees and candidates, helping create an outstanding experience from initial application through to employment and ongoing support.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same.

About the Role
You will work closely with our leadership team and be responsible for:

Recruitment

• Managing end-to-end recruitment activities across operational and corporate roles.
• Reviewing applications and shortlisting candidates.
• Conducting phone screens, interviews and reference checks.
• Building talent pools for upcoming shutdown and project opportunities.
• Developing and improving recruitment assessment processes.
• Creating testing, screening and onboarding programs.
• Preparing employment offers and employment documentation.
• Maintaining candidate relationships and ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Human Resources

• Providing first-level HR advice and support to managers and employees.
• Assisting with employee relations matters and workplace issues.
• Supporting performance management and development processes.
• Maintaining personnel files and HR records.
• Assisting with policy development and implementation.
• Supporting employee engagement and retention initiatives.
• Assisting with training and development programs.

Training & Development

• Developing internal training programs.
• Supporting career development pathways for employees.
• Identifying opportunities to improve workforce capability.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people and can build strong relationships at all levels of the business.

Essential

• Previous experience in recruitment, HR or a combined HR/recruitment position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong interviewing and candidate assessment abilities.
• Ability to build rapport quickly with candidates and employees.
• Highly organised with strong administrative skills.
• Professional written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Highly Desirable

• Experience within mining, shutdown, construction, engineering or labour hire industries.
• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
• Experience developing training programs or recruitment assessments.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and workplace compliance requirements.
• Experience using recruitment and HR systems.
